"Well where do I start I have had my 3.8 emblems on my fenders for over a year now and a couple of months ago I purchased a 3.8 emblem for the trunk of my car. What can I say except they are a fine quality product."

You Are Here: Home / Install
Many people are worried on the difficulty of removing the stock running ponies on the fenders and replacing them with AutoBadges emblems, so thanks to Dan Haga of www.ExtremeV6Racing.com, there is a step-by-step installation procedure. You will see just how easy it is to go from a stock look to a styling look in just about 20 minutes! NOTE: Never put wax on emblems! If wax gets on your emblem, it will make it difficult to remove the emblem in the future, if you ever need to do so. Additionally never put a buffer to the emblems and that will ruin the finish.

Materials Needed:
1. Your New Emblem
2. Hair Dryer or Heat Gun
3. Screwdriver (flat-head)
4. Adhesive Remover
5. Multi-purpose Cleaner
6. Clean Cloth or Rag
» Step 1 of 5
The thing you need to do is remove the old pony emblem. Start by heating up the emblem with a blow-dryer. This will soften up the old adhesive and make it easier to pull off. Once it is good and hot, pull it off. It helps to use a screw-driver but be very careful not to scratch the paint.
» Step 2 of 5
Once you get the emblem off there will be some adhesive still on the car and a big hole. Don't worry about the hole, the new emblems will seal and cover them up. Use some adhesive remover to get all of the old adhesive off. Once you have removed all of the old adhesive, clean up the area with some multi-purpose cleaner or rubbing alcohol. If you don't clean off all of the adhesive remover, the new emblems may not stick well.
» Step 3 of 5
With the area cleaned up, you are ready to put on the new emblems. Be sure to center the emblem over the hole for the best results.
» Step 4 of 5
Next, pick a spot on the back of the car for the rear emblem. Clean the area with the multi-purpose cleaner or rubbing alcohol and firmly press on the new emblem.
» Step 5 of 5
Install the last emblem on the other side of the car and you are all done! Congratulations on a job well done!

» Emblem Maintenance Instructions

AutoBadges recommends washing emblems with just water and a terry cloth rag, if necessary. Customers should NEVER wax emblems as it will stick to the webbing and damage the emblem. If you have any questions on products you would like to use to maintain your emblems please contact us before using them.

Printable Instructions:

» Step 1 of 6
Clean lens thoroughly. (We recommend aligning proper overlays to each lens)
» Step 2 of 6
Peel Backing from film (prevent film from touching any foreign surfaces). Spray soapy water solution on both the taillight and tint overlay.
» Step 3 of 6
Align and apply film to one side or center of the light
» Step 4 of 6
Using the provided plastic application card covered in a paper towel press down/sweep the remainder of the film across the light.
» Step 5 of 6
If large bubbles are present or film is misaligned, peel up the film to that area and apply again.
» Step 6 of 6
After each lens repeat the process until light is complete. NOTE: 3rd and furthest lens is the most difficult as it does curve. As one half of that tint settles you will be able to push out all the bubbles but be patient and careful for a perfect finish!

Settings – Small air bubbles and creases/ripples will disappear over time as film settles and is warmed. Minor scratches will also disappear over time and after film maintenance by waxing.
Maintenance Care – The film can be washed with soap and water just as you use on your car's finish. Light scrubbing is ok as well as a mild solvent if needed. Condition the films with a good carnauba wax.
For show, competition and off-road use only. Please check with your local law enforcement about the legality of these lenses.
